Laboratory Risk Management and Design

Keeping pace with changes in technology and eliminating risks to the efficacy of existing workflows, spaces and ancillary processes

27-28 Nov 2019
Melbourne, Australia

Why You Should Attend

Laboratory Risk Management and Design

A comprehensive risk management system builds competent staff, ensures the quality of tests done, protects the integrity of data collected and reduces the possibility of financial loss due to unforeseen circumstances. In this workshop, participants will learn about risk management and its place in accreditation and certification management standards. Laboratory managers and owners are now faced with a major reinterpretation of the accreditation standards with little material to help them to manage and adopt the new requirements. Added to this, new technology demands a key risk, that of implementing new technologies such as automation and new equipment into laboratory workspaces. Successful laboratories are the result of extensive planning, collaboration, and coordination between the design team and all impacted stakeholders. Laboratory staff are not architects and may feel ill-equipped to embark on such necessary projects which need to be well managed to ensure there are minimal disruptions. This workshop is aimed at filling this gap and ensuring you successfully navigate your way through this transition.

You will gain the skills and tools you need to manage risks and steps involved in managing identified risks as well as planning for a well optimised lab. This will ensure you increase productivity, and manage your laboratory better and smarter while continuing to comply with accreditation and certification criteria.
